Min Sun Lee is a graphic and UI designer, educator, and hand lettering noob based in Birmingham, Alabama.

I grew up in Seoul, South Korea, and good ole Midwest in Hudson, Wisconsin. After receiving BA in graphic design in UW-Eau Claire and MFA in graphic design in Iowa State, I wandered down to Birmingham, Alabama.

I believe that through proper execution, design can serve as a valuable ally to those in need. I am interested in the design research, unique solutions to problems involving human experience, social patterns and communication between cultures. My design has been evolving from print to user interface designs and hand lettering - I love working to learn more about user experience with empathy; conducting user testing, and applying my print skills to UI. I also love trying hand lettering, crocheting, listening to crime podcasts and my dogs - Pancake and Sausage (Soon-Dae: 순대 in Korean).

Beside the work, I have been heavily involved with the community, such as acting as a Volunteer Staff Graphic Designer for: Sidewalk Film Festival, AIGA Birmingham,  Design Week Birmingham, Railroad Park, Cahaba River Society, Innovation Center for Design Ambassadors and Alabama Engine: Alabama Engine: AIGA Birmingham + Design Thinking, which was sponsored by AIGA National from the Aspen Summit project.I had the privilege to work with various clients - design agencies, startups, small business, non-profits, and personal. Also have presented and published my work nationally and internationally.
